Woodcutting is one of ten Life Professions, and is leveled by chopping different kinds of trees in the game. So far there are six types of trees in the game, to be chopped. To chop the different kinds of trees, a hatchet, and a certain woodcutting level is required.
Each level up, increases the players chopping speed. It is recommended to bring a backpack, and also Worker's shirt, and Worker's pants, for extra carrying capacity, since none of the items are too hard to get back, if killed by another player, except for Worker's shirt and pants, which does require level 20 in Tailoring to make. The logs are primarily used to craft different weapons, and furniture in Carpentry , for player owned houses or tents. The logs can also be turned into planks, which are used to make the houses themselves.
These trees are found in different places, notably just south of Grimwall, which is probably the best place to find them for low level players. They give Evark Logs which can be used in Carpentry Since the water in Bal Sardan can release poisonous gas, make sure to avoid the water or bring some food to heal back up.
These trees are found mostly in Bal Sardan. They give Pertica Logs, which can be used in Carpentry The logs weigh 15, so it's recommended to have as much carrying capacity as possible. The Pertica trees found left of the Wayshrine, is in a small ruin, with a lot of lvl 50 Lizard Warrior NPCs, so be careful not to aggro them.
These trees are found only on Goldon, with the exception of one tree behind the Bal Sardan Wayshrine. They give Deadwood Logs, which can be used in Carpentry The logs weigh 15, so it's recommended to have as much carrying capacity as possible. There are three level 38 Trolls in the way to the tress in Goldon, so be sure to run around them, to avoid dying.
